Scope
These terms apply to the codeme desktop app and this website (together, "the Service"). Installing the app or using this site means you accept them. If you do not, do not install the app, or delete it — there is no cancellation process and nothing to notify, because no account is left behind.
What it provides
codeme is a tool that handles the following in one desktop window.
- Creating, deleting and switching git worktrees
- Branch history, staging, commits, pushes and conflict resolution
- File editing and a terminal
- Running and managing sessions of AI agent CLIs already installed on your machine, and reviewing what those sessions changed
- Running the test runners, Docker and database clients already installed on your machine
- Reading tickets and pull requests from GitHub, Forgejo and Jira, only where you entered a token yourself
What it does not provide. We run no server that stores, transmits or backs up your code. Hosting, collaboration, remote execution and account management are not part of the service, and neither are AI models or the plans they are sold under.
What the licence allows
codeme's source code is not published. The distributor grants you the right to install and use the build provided to you for personal and work purposes; that right is neither transferable nor exclusive.
The following is not permitted — redistributing, selling or renting the build, reverse engineering it, including disassembly and decompilation, and using the name "codeme" and its logo on software that is not the distributor's.
Accounts and fees
There is no account. No sign-up, sign-in or authentication exists, and nothing is charged for use of the Service. Fees for the AI agents, model APIs and repository or issue-tracker services you use separately are a matter between you and each provider.
The remaining usage the app displays is for reference. Whether that figure came from the server or was measured on this machine, billing and limits are settled by the provider, not by us.
Your responsibilities
- Your data is yours. This app reads and writes files on your disk. Backups are your responsibility.
- Take care with destructive actions. Deleting a worktree, force-moving a branch, and file changes an agent makes can produce results that cannot be undone. Whether to give an agent permission to run is your decision.
- Editing a database edits real data. A row you change in the panel is changed in the database you connected to. Whether to connect to production data is your call.
- Use it only where you are authorised. Do not point this tool at a repository, system or database you do not have access to.
- Look after your tokens. Issue repository and issue-tracker tokens with the least privilege they need, and revoke them at that service immediately if you suspect they have leaked.
Third-party tools and services
codeme runs third-party tools already installed on your machine and connects to third-party services you name. Chiefly: AI agent CLIs, language servers, git, Docker, database clients, and GitHub · Forgejo · Jira.
We neither bundle nor install these for you, and we are not responsible for their behaviour, quality, availability or pricing. Each is used under its own provider's terms and policies. In particular, code and prompts handed to an AI agent may be transmitted to that agent provider's servers, and how they are handled is decided by that provider.
Your code
Copyright in the code and documents you write or modify with this app belongs entirely to you (or to the original rights holder). We acquire no rights in it, and we do not collect it.
What you leave on the site
The feedback page of this site has a place to leave a rating and a comment. These are the rules that apply to it.
- Copyright stays with whoever wrote it. All we may do is carry it on this site, show it, and where necessary reorder or remove it. We do not reuse it elsewhere or put it in advertising.
- What you leave is public. The name and the text are visible to anyone and may be picked up by search engines. Do not write anything you would mind being public — a real name, an email address, a token.
- What must not be left — other people's personal data; defamation, discrimination or harassment; work you have no right to; advertising and spam; malicious links. Anything of that kind is not published, or is removed, without notice.
- It goes up first and is read afterwards. What you leave is published straight away rather than waiting for review. Anything breaking the rules above comes down as soon as it is seen — nothing is taken down for being critical.
- You can ask for it to be deleted. Tell us which one through contact and it goes. What is kept, and for how long, is written out in the privacy policy.
- What is left is somebody else's opinion. A rating or a comment is the view of whoever wrote it, and we do not warrant that any of it is accurate.
Disclaimer of warranty
The Service is provided "AS IS". We make no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will run uninterrupted, that it is free of errors, or that no data will be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the applicable law allows, we are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use of, or the inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of code, loss of business and interrupted work.
This clause does not limit liability for damage caused by wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Changes and discontinuation
These terms may be revised, and the revision date on this window is updated when they are. An app you have already installed keeps working, so if you do not accept a revision you may keep using that version or remove it.
The app does not download a new version by itself. Installing a new build is always your decision.
We may discontinue the Service (this website and the provision of builds) at any time. An app already installed runs inside this computer without a server, so discontinuation does not stop you using it.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea. In the event of a dispute the parties will seek to resolve it in good faith, and failing that either may bring an action before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
Contact
For questions or reports about these terms, tell the distributor through wherever you got the build. For anything about the handling of personal data, please read the Privacy Policy as well.
